My feelings of passion I do not hide, nor do I mince words to tell.
Rather, I tell it for what it's worth.
For in real words, I show my affection.
Through tender touch of hands and souls,
through conversations, poetry and prose.
For m'lady does not say what she feels,
rather, keeps it to herself, hidden and locked away safe.
I offered myself unto thee, as others also did,
to fight for the honor of your hand.
The Battle lasted for months and years,
through coldest days and sleepless nights.
And though it is not over, The Battle, I myself had lost.
I lost the will to fight, for it had been for naught.
All futile, all seemingly pointless and endless.
I lost faith in what i fought for.
Other Soldiers will fight for you, m'lady,
but not I. Not anymore.
I do not see myself fitting in an Army,
each one of us vying for your choice,
Fighting for your attention, care and affection.
This Love for so unrequited, spun around by situations and fate,
Hath been exhausted by all means.
I gave you attention so undivided, I gave you everything you ever wanted.
Unwittingly frail and gullible was I to believe that this feeling will be reciprocated.
Worlds and Angels will speak of truth,
As Men only speak of conquered nations and riches.
I bear no regrets, bitterness, or sorrow,
As I bid you, m'lady,
This Silent Reverie,
This last goodbye.

and good riddance.*
