Body Double.

I was walking down the street hurriedly,
as I was running late, when I saw a familiar face.
There was some girl that looked like you walking ahead of me,
but she was just a little bit thinner.
Her hair flowed like yours, Her eyes just a little bit bigger.
She had complexion just like yours, a bit taller, but I couldn't really tell,
I haven't seen you for such a long time now.

Turns out, we were headed in the same direction.
She also rode the same ride i took and even sat beside me.
I was trying hard not to look, even trying harder not to stare,
but with each lash of the wind, I catch the scent of her hair.

I find my self thinking, but I quickly stop myself.
If not ignored, these thoughts I have will stay for sure.
I try to deviate my attention, I look out unto the streets.
But I'm like a moth to the flame, I get so easily lured.
I'm back again unconsciously staring at you, watching your every move.
Trying not to get caught, I manage a few glimpse here and there.
Suddenly our eye paths cross and pause for a split second, and we quickly turn away.

She was looking at me too,
I was sure of it.

My heart was beating five times faster. I didn't know what to do.
The fact that she's inches away from me makes me shiver.
And slowly, she's edging nearer and nearer.
Why? I ask myself. Confused by her the sudden actions.
She closed the gap in between us. And I cannot speak.
I can feel her shoulder on mine, maybe just even a graze would suffice.
I get goosebumps. Just the feeling of her touch made all the difference.
She looks like the real thing.
She feels like the real thing.
She looks like you.
She feels like you.
I wish she was You.

In that moment,
I felt again what I thought I lost a long time ago.
The feeling of you near me.
That feeling of such peace and satisfaction,
The feeling of pure happiness.
I await for you to come again,
and maybe next time you won't be such a mystery.

*Proximity (Part Deux)

Proximity.

The fact that you're in the same proximity as I am makes me shiver.
It makes my heart beat five times faster.
My Hands, they begin to Freeze,
and my Eyes are moving in all directions.
I'm watching your every step as you move closer to me.

The fact that you're inches away makes me shiver,
It makes the hairs on my skin stand on the end.
I'm Nerve-Wracked and Impatient.
I'm excited by the way you speak.
You're irresistible, I can barely talk.
I can barely breathe.
My eyes are locked unto you.
There's no escape and I begin to panic.

The effect you have on me is like Gravity,
You pull me closer and closer to you.
I can't stop, I can never stop.
I can't resist the attraction.
My senses are dull,
my mind is numbed.
You're everything that fills my head.
My Logic and Intellect are gone,
I'm left senseless and dumb.

The fact that you're in the same proximity as I am makes me shiver.
You make my heart beat five times faster.

On Uncharted Waters.

On uncharted waters, I sail alone.

To which direction, I do not know.
I have gone many places,

but there is no place I call home.
I seem to be sailing aimlessly,
Wandering over murky depths of oceans and seas.
Hoping that I'd find my homeland,
The homeland I now lost, but once found.

The morning sun awakens

and greets me with his blue skies,
but realizes that his light did not shine on me.
He asks why darkness fills my heart, to which I reply:

"I have been cast away from my homeland

and I have been searching high and low.
Under every rock, every speck of sand and snow.
In every beautiful Island, I have tried to stay,
but It cannot appease my longing for my own in any way."

He drew near, whispers in my ear and tells me:
"Trouble not yourself with doubt and discouragement,
You may not find it now, but in this world nothing is certain.

I give you this Compass, It will point to where you must go.

Chase that dream until you find it."

The moon gleams over me during Nightfall.
She looks at me intently and tells:
"You are the Captain, the First Mate, and the Crew,
But how are you going to survive the coming days
when there is no one to look after you?"

I look up to her, and cried out in despair,
"This Ship might be filled with hundreds of people to help,
But I only need one to fill up this empty vessel."

She laid eyes upon my Ship, and reacted with much disgust.
"You cannot carry more than one person on deck,
you cannot carry that thing even if you find It.
Your small Ship would surely break apart,
For you both, on your Ship, would not fit."

"Here, take this piece of wood, and set it to the waters.
It will be your Ship that will take you to where you must go.
It will be strong enough to weather the strongest waves and storms.
Journey forth into the open seas, find what your heart desires."

With that, I set out with high hopes, Looking forward to the near future.
With Compass in hand and new vehicle on foot, I speed away.
On to my Journey, I shall not bend,
I cast my sail to the highest mast,
calling to the winds for their air to lend.

"I sing to the winds, blow high and strong!
Guide me to where I once belonged,
For satisfied, I am not, On this temporary refuge.
Take me to where I must be, and let me stay there for good."

It took Years and Months, And I never stopped.
Then one day The Compass clocked, ticked and disappeared.
I Found the place, the real shore.
It was right in front of me, and now I'm sure.
I found again what was lost, what was rightfully mine.
I could not speak, not a single line.
The feeling was priceless, It was like heaven.
There I was standing, In awe of it all,
I'm home, I found what i was looking for.
